10/28/06 - "Think!: Why Crucial Decisions Can't Be Made in the Blink of an Eye" (Michael R. LeGault)
This book is the flip side of Malcolm Gladwell's best-selling book, "Blink," which celebrated impulse thinking over factual knowledge or critical analysis. Heather & I both enjoyed "Blink" for what is was worth, an interesting perspective ["Worth the read" if you're interested in both sides of this phenomenon]. The counter-argument was interesting and compelling, however both perspectives are worth consideration.
Overall ... Worth the read, especially if you've read "Blink"
10/29/06 - "The Pursuit of Happyness" (Chris Gardner)
This book is the motivation for the soon-to-be-released movie starring Will Smith and his real-life son. The story is about a single dad who, after having his son literally "dumped in his lap," decides that no matter what- his son would know who his daddy was. Although a heart-felt telling of the proverbial "rags-to-riches" story, this book doesn't real go anywhere in the end. Heather & I are however eagerly anticipating the release of Will Smith's movie. This is one of those book-to-movie projects that you can tell will be very well done. Especially in the AudioBook format, you can almost hear Smith's voice (not narrated by Smith) coming through every sentence of the narration.
Overall ... "Definitely worth the read, before the movie is released"
